Washington: Two powerful earthquakes that struck Venezuela last week caused immense damage to the country. Researchers have made a preliminary estimate that approximately 58,870 buildings were destroyed in Venezuela due to the earthquakes that occurred on June 24. Some buildings collapsed completely, while others were damaged. This assessment is based on satellite radar data collected on June 25 from satellites belonging to NASA (the US space agency).
