Are Tests Necessary for Newborns?
It is essential to conduct a 'Newborn Screening Test' immediately after a child is born. Some infants are born carrying certain life-threatening diseases. If these conditions are not detected at an early stage, they progress as the child grows, eventually becoming too severe to be corrected through medical treatment. Some of these disorders can lead to mental disabilities or even pose a direct threat to the child's life. Therefore, to detect such diseases in advance, newborn screening should be performed one or two days after birth.
