Diesel mafia: Stole ₹2500 crore annually
Andhra Pradesh: Diesel mafia is stealing ₹2500 crore annually from the state treasury. Diesel is being transported in hundreds of lorries from refineries in Yanam, Puducherry, Gujarat and Karnataka and sold in bulk in Amaravati and other work areas. While diesel costs ₹97 per liter in the petrol pumps, they are selling it for ₹90. The GOVT should get 22.25% VAT, ₹4 additional VAT and ₹1 road cess on the base price of diesel. The mafia is looting them.
