Grant NOC for Sammakka Sagar
Hyderabad: Telangana has requested the Chhattisgarh government to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the Sammakka Sagar (Tupakulagudem) barrage constructed on the Godavari River. Telangana stated its readiness to pay compensation for any lands in Chhattisgarh that might face submergence due to water storage at the Sammakka Sagar barrage. It explained that securing approval for the Sammakka Sagar project would stabilize the irrigation of 4.40 lakh acres of land.
