GST Collections Hit ₹2 Lakh Crore
Gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections rose by 14.8 percent year-on-year to nearly ₹2 lakh crore in August. Robust domestic activity and imports contributed to this growth. According to data released by the Central Government on Tuesday, GST revenue from domestic operations increased by 9.3 percent year-on-year to ₹1.37 lakh crore, while tax revenue from imports grew by 29 percent to ₹62,604 crore. Consequently, the gross GST revenue stood at ₹1,99,853 crore.
