How much iodine does the body need
The body only needs a very small amount of iodine. Just 150mg per day is enough. Children need 50mg, and pregnant women need 200mg of iodine. A person only needs half a teaspoon of iodine in their lifetime. Our body contains 25mg of iodine. Therefore, it is enough to consume only the amount of iodine-rich foods that the body needs. However, consuming too much of it can lead to health problems.
