Hyderabad girl shines at the Asian Youth Para Games
Telugu player Gangapatnam Vijaya Deepika won a gold and a bronze medal in table tennis at the Asian Youth Para Games. Deepika, from Hyderabad, won gold in mixed doubles and bronze in women's singles. Fifteen-year-old Deepika has achieved the distinction of being the youngest to win a gold medal at the continental level. Deepika's mother, Aruna, is a veteran tennis player, and her brother, Vijay Tej, is a national-level tennis player.
