Infrastructure to match the crowd: Railway Department
The Railway Department has announced that it is increasing the capacity of the railways to match the passenger traffic. It explained that it will improve infrastructure at major stations by 2030. For this purpose, it has selected 48 cities in the first phase. These include Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai. It stated that it is developing Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati stations in Andhra Pradesh. It also said that the number of trains will be increased.
