Is Using a Phone on a Flight Dangerous?
Passengers on flights are strictly instructed to switch their phones to "Flight Mode." Some people harbor a fear that failing to do so poses a danger. However, pilots clarify that while a plane won't crash simply because a phone isn't in Flight Mode, there is indeed some associated risk. They explain, "If phones are not in Flight Mode, they attempt to search for and receive signals. This interferes with the radio waves reaching the pilots' headsets, causing static noise. Consequently, the pilots' concentration is disrupted."
