Vijayawada: In a statement issued on Saturday, the state government should restrict private travel buses and introduce long-distance services through the RTC, said Palisetty Damodhara Rao and G.V. Narasaiah, state president and general secretary of the employees' union. "Steps should be taken to ensure that the RTC itself, with the help of the government, purchases AC and AC sleeper buses with advanced facilities to run long-distance services in competition with private operators in line with the needs of passengers," they requested.
