Rohit becomes India's highest run-scoring opener
Rohit, who scored a century against Australia yesterday, achieved a rare record. He became the highest run-scoring opener for India in all formats. In this order, he surpassed Virender Sehwag. Rohit scored 15,787 runs, followed by Sehwag (15,758) and Sachin (15,335). Rohit made his debut for India in 2007, but did not perform well. He broke records after taking up the role of opener in 2013.
