IPL 2026 Mini-Auction on December 16th
The mini-auction for IPL 2026 will be held in Abu Dhabi on December 16th. It will be completed in a single day and will start at 2:30 PM Indian Standard Time. Since this is a mini-auction, teams will not be able to use the Right to Match (RTM) option this time.
A total of 77 players can be bought in the auction
A total of 359 players have been shortlisted for the IPL 2026 auction. Of these, only 77 players can be bought by all the teams combined. These 77 players include 31 foreign players. Notably, a total of 40 players have registered for the auction with a base price of ₹2 crore. These include India's Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi.
Teams can have a maximum of 25 players in their squad
In the IPL, a team can have a maximum of 25 players in its squad. The minimum number of players in a squad is 18. Additionally, an IPL team can include a maximum of 8 foreign players in its squad, of which only four can play in the playing eleven.
KKR has the most money for the auction
The Kolkata Knight Riders team has the most money remaining for the IPL auction. KKR has a total of ₹64.30 crore. The Chennai Super Kings team, which has won the IPL title five times, has ₹43.40 crore. The Mumbai team has the least amount of money available for the auction, with ₹2.750 crore.
