Shock for Heroine Tamannaah
The Madras High Court has delivered a setback to star heroine Tamannaah. She had approached the court alleging that 'Power Soaps' continued to use her photographs for promotional purposes during 2010–11, even after her contract with the company had expired (2008–09), and argued that this constituted a violation of the terms. She petitioned the court to direct the company to pay her ₹1 crore as compensation for this grievance. However, the court dismissed the petition, ruling that the incident had caused no damage to the actress's reputation and that there was insufficient evidence to warrant the awarding of compensation.
