TG Govt Seeks 30 Days to Finalize Reservations for Local Body Elections
Hyderabad: The state government has requested the High Court to give it 30 days to finalize and announce reservations for various communities as part of the conduct of local body elections. It said that it will fulfill its obligations within 30 days and inform the State Election Commission of its consent. The Election Commission told the High Court that the election process will be completed within 60 days after the state government fulfills its obligations. It reminded the High Court that the Constitution stipulates that elections should be held before the end of the term.
