The post of Joint Collector in the state has been abolished.
Telangana: The state government has taken a key decision to abolish the post of Joint Collector that existed earlier. Along with this, it has issued orders appointing Additional Collectors (Revenue) of all districts as Forest Settlement Officers. Forest land survey, determination of rights and settlement work have been brought under their purview. It has ordered the Collectors and Revenue Officers of all districts to take appropriate steps for the conservation of forest lands.
