Tomato prices have fallen.. What if governments do this?
Tomato prices have collapsed in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Traders are not coming forward to buy at ₹2-5 per kg. Due to this, farmers are wasting their crop. When prices fall like this, governments should create awareness to make pickles, ketchup/puree, and tomato powder with tomatoes. Food processing companies should be set up in areas with high tomato area. If similar alternatives are shown for other crops, farmers will have a stable income. What do you think?
