34% reservation for BCs in ‘local’ elections: Minister
Andhra Pradesh: Minister Savita said that the coalition government’s goal is to provide 34% reservation for BCs in local body elections. As part of this, she said that a one-member commission has been appointed under the leadership of Ex IAS Rajiv Ranjan Mishra. Reservations will be implemented based on the report of the commission. She said that CM Chandrababu is biased towards BCs. She criticized the previous government for limiting BC reservations to 24% in local elections.
