Are there so many benefits of fasting?
Many devotees of Lord Vishnu fast on Saturdays. Devotees believe that this brings divine blessings. Doctors also say that it has health benefits. They say that ‘Fasting improves the body’s metabolism. Calories are burned. Fat is reduced. Diabetes and BP are under control. Relief is provided from gas, acidity, and bloating. Mental health also improves.’
