Are You Eating Spotted Mangoes?
You may have noticed black spots on some of the mangoes available in the market. These spots develop while the mangoes are still on the tree, caused by fungi and bacteria thriving in the high-humidity environment of the orchard. Consequently, the fruit gets damaged. Consuming such mangoes poses a risk of falling ill; therefore, it is best to avoid purchasing them. Furthermore, mango farmers are advised not to over-water crops that have already developed these black spots.
