New Delhi: As part of the ongoing hearing in the Sabarimala case, arguments continued on Tuesday before a Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court. "An idol is not merely an object; in Hindu Dharma, an idol is not just clay or stone—it is a 'living deity' endowed with specific attributes," argued Senior Counsel V.V. Giri, representing the petitioners. He explained to the Supreme Court bench that an idol consecrated within a temple possesses a distinct legal personality.
