Bid to Appropriate 448 Acres of Government Land
Gajwel: Scams involving officials granting land titles (pattas) for government lands to private individuals continue to surface in the state. In the Kukunurpally mandal of Siddipet district, revenue officials have attempted to misappropriate a staggering 448 acres of government land in this manner. This fact came to light during the state-wide SIT investigation. It was revealed that assigned and government lands in several villages within the mandal had been regularized (granted *patta* rights).
