Central Government Imposes Strict Regulations on Sleeper Buses
In the wake of increasing accidents involving sleeper buses in the country, the central government has tightened regulations. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari stated that this decision was taken after 145 people died in accidents over the past six months. He said that from now on, sleeper buses must be manufactured only by automobile companies or manufacturers recognized by the central government. He also ordered that all types of safety equipment be installed in the buses.
