Redistribution of 87 Municipalities and 13 Corporations in the State
Andhra Pradesh: The government has issued a notification regarding the redistribution of 87 municipalities and 13 municipal corporations across the state. This delimitation exercise was carried out based on the 2011 census data. As a result of these changes, the number of wards has increased as follows: from 98 to 120 in Visakhapatnam; from 64 to 86 in Vijayawada; from 57 to 76 in Guntur; from 54 to 72 in Nellore; from 52 to 68 in Kurnool; from 50 to 66 in Tirupati; and from 50 to 62 in Anantapur.
