"As a daughter-in-law of Andhra, I remain forever committed to the development of the state, including the Rayalaseema region. Inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi—who believed that villages are the backbone of the nation—and Lal Bahadur Shastri—who gave the slogan 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan'—we will transform Rayalaseema into a 'Ratnala Seema' (a land of prosperity and gems) through the joint efforts of the Central and State governments," said Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. She was speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony for the Rayalaseema Global Horticulture Hub and the Indian School of Agriculture in Madanapalle on Friday.
