DA hike as a Holi gift?
The center is reportedly working to increase the DA for central government employees and pensioners as a Holi (March 4) gift. The current DA is 58%, and it is expected to increase by another 2%. This is likely to come into effect from January. While the DA increased by one percent in the year 2000, this year's increase will be the second lowest. Only two percent was recorded in 2007, 2018, and 2025. Meanwhile, the 8th Pay Commission will come into effect from January 1 this year.
