Do Not Trust Rumors of Loan Waivers
**Mumbai:** The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has warned the public not to place any credence whatsoever in rumors suggesting that banks and financial institutions are planning to waive loans. The RBI issued this warning following reports that certain individuals and organizations have recently been circulating claims—demanding a small fee in return—that they can facilitate the waiver of outstanding loan dues. The central bank advised that if anyone approaches you with such false claims, you should immediately contact the specific banks or financial institutions from which you obtained your loans.
