Don't create obstacles to 'SIR'... Supreme Court warning
The Supreme Court made crucial remarks on the petition filed by the West Bengal government opposing the 'SIR' process. It warned against creating obstacles in the 'SIR' process. On the other hand, the Election Commission informed the court that the government provided only 80 officers when 300 were requested. The government argued that the EC did not give voters a single opportunity to prove their local residency. Following this, the Supreme Court extended the deadline by a week.
