Elephant Dies of Electrocution in Chittoor District
An elephant died of electrocution in a crop field. The incident occurred on Monday night at Papireddigaripalle in Pulicherla Mandal, Chittoor district. A herd of 13 elephants, which had reached the mandal's border two days ago, destroyed crops near Tettupalli on Monday night before returning to the forest. A woman discovered a dead elephant in farmer Bhaskar Reddy's mango orchard near Papireddygaripalli and alerted the villagers. Upon learning of the incident from senior officials, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed his regret.
