Employee commits suicide due to harassment.. Rs. 90 crore compensation
A court in Japan has awarded Rs 90 crore in compensation to an employee who committed suicide due to harassment. In 2023, Satomi (25) was harassed at her workplace. In 2021, the company president called the victim a ‘street dog’. This led to her depression and she attempted suicide. She died in 2023. The girl’s parents approached the court over her death, and the company was ordered to pay Rs 90 crore.
