Gadwal Vijayalakshmi to Head Women's Commission?
Hyderabad: It is reported that the name of Gadwal Vijayalakshmi—the immediate past Mayor of the GHMC—has been finalized for the post of Chairperson of the State Women's Commission. The tenure of the current Chairperson, Nerella Sarada, has come to an end. In fact, there was stiff competition within the Congress party for the position of Women's Commission Chairperson; while the incumbent Chairperson, Nerella Sarada, sought an extension of her term, several other leaders also made their own efforts to secure the post.
