Government Intervenes: Senior Police Team Formed to Probe Drunk Driving Fatality
The Andhra Pradesh government issued orders on Sunday appointing East Godavari Additional SP Patil Devaraj as the official investigating officer for the death of medical student Priyanka. The student succumbed to severe injuries after being rammed by drunken youths in a car accident in Rajahmundry. South Zone DSP Shiva Priya and Prakash Nagar CI Bajilal have been assigned to assist the investigation. The state directed the team to expedite the probe and ensure strict punishment for the culprits.
