Government Will Not Bear Losses on Petrol and Diesel
The government has categorically stated that it cannot bear the losses currently being faced by public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) on the sale of petrol, diesel, and Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) due to the conflict in West Asia. Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary at the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, clarified that there is absolutely no intention on the government's part to absorb these losses. With the electoral process now concluded, it is anticipated that OMCs will soon hike petrol and diesel prices to recoup at least a portion of these losses.
