High Courts are the primary protectors: CJI Suryakant
CJI Justice Suryakant said that the role of High Courts is crucial in providing justice to the common people. He opined that they stand as primary protectors. He praised their role in preventing the feeling that justice is out of reach for the people. He said that High Courts should not merely be appeal/revision courts, but should become accessible centers for the protection of the Constitution. He stated that he opposes directly approaching the Supreme Court.
