If the challan is not paid within 45 days, the vehicle will be seized!
The Centre has proposed key amendments to the Motor Vehicles Rules-1989. The Centre has said that if there are objections or suggestions on the rules, they can be sent to the Additional Secretary of the Transport Department.
* Possibility of cancellation of the license of the vehicle owner if there are more than five challans
* Vehicle will be seized if the challan is not paid within 45 days (currently 90 days)
* Provision for not conducting transactions on that vehicle if the challans are delayed
* Notices will be issued within 3 days if the rules are violated
