Washington: US President Trump, currently under immense pressure regarding a potential war with Iran, has resorted to threatening even his allies. He warned that if Oman does not cooperate in restoring commercial shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, the US would bomb and destroy the country. While the US shares good relations with Oman, the latter is currently holding talks with Iran regarding the joint management of the Strait of Hormuz—a move Trump opposes.
