Impact of war on cement sector.. Is price hike inevitable?
The impact of the Iran-Israel war has also been felt on the cement sector in India, according to 'Elara Capital' in its report. It said that crude oil prices have increased by 39%, thermal coal prices by 14% and petcoke prices by 18% in the last 15 days. The increase in manufacturing costs is expected to have a serious impact on the profits of companies, and profits are expected to decline significantly in Q2 of FY27. It said that a cement bag price increase of up to ₹6 is needed to compensate for this burden.
