Israelis fail to grant a majority to any side!
Signs point to another hung parliament in Israel’s national elections. Forming a government in the 120-seat Knesset requires 61 seats, yet no party has managed to come close to this magic number. According to local media, while the Likud party alliance—led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (‘Bibi’)—is in the lead with 53 seats, it is unlikely to secure an absolute majority. Meanwhile, the opposition alliance, led by former military chief Gadi Eisenkot, appears to be heading toward winning 48 seats.
