Italian Bank Swindled Using AI Voice Cloning
Rome: A staggering ₹1,034 crore was siphoned off using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Fraudsters utilized AI voice cloning technology to mimic the voices of senior executives and call bank officials, successfully orchestrating the transfer of 95 million euros (approximately ₹1,034 crore). This fraud, which occurred in February at Fideuram—the wealth management division of Intesa Sanpaolo, Italy's largest bank—came to light recently following a report by Reuters.
