Manisha in the Hunt for Gold
Indian wrestler Manisha Bhanwala has stormed into the final of the World Wrestling Championships, keeping India’s hopes for a gold medal alive in the mega-tournament. In the 59kg semi-final held on Thursday, Manisha defeated Altin Shagayeva (Kazakhstan) 10-0. She will face Abigail Elizabeth Nette (USA) in the final bout on Friday. Notably, Bhanwala is the third wrestler from India—following Neelam and Kajal—to reach the gold-medal round in this tournament.
