Moderna's Breakthrough Against Skin Cancer
Moderna has developed a personalized mRNA vaccine to prevent the recurrence of melanoma (a type of skin cancer)! Researchers found that when administered in combination with a well-known immunotherapy drug previously developed by Merck—as part of Phase 3 clinical trials—the vaccine reduced the risk of cancer recurrence and death in melanoma patients by 49–50%. The mRNA vaccine is named 'Intismeran Autogene' (also known as V940 or mRNA-4157).
