NMDC Targets 60 Million Tonne Production
NMDC Chairman Amitava Mukherjee announced a target of producing 60 million tonnes of iron ore in the current fiscal year (2026-27), driven by significantly rising demand from domestic steel manufacturing companies. He noted that the company had surpassed the 50-million-tonne milestone in the 2025-26 fiscal year and is implementing a plan to reach the 60-million-tonne target by leveraging existing iron ore mines and the NMDC-CMDC Limited (NCL) joint venture.
