Onion prices have fallen sharply!
Farmers are crying as onion prices have fallen sharply. In Telangana, they are getting only Rs. 5-16 per kg. Consumers are getting between Rs. 25-45. As a result, only middlemen are profiting. In Andhra Pradesh, a quintal is fetching a minimum of Rs. 501 and a maximum of Rs. 1,249. Farmers are getting between Rs. 5-12 per kg. Onion stocks have accumulated in some markets and purchases have stopped. Farmers are demanding government assistance.
