Petition to the Supreme Court to allow children to burn crackers
The Supreme Court has reserved its verdict on the petitions filed against the ban on firecrackers in Delhi. The Supreme Court had banned the sale and use of firecrackers in April this year in view of the hazardous air pollution in the national capital. During the hearing today, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that children are looking forward to the festival and requested that environment-friendly crackers be allowed. He said that permission should be given between 8 am and 10 am on Diwali day.
