Rainfall continues across the country even after monsoon; alert issued in several states
Even after the monsoon's departure, heavy rains are occurring in many states across the country. The main reason for this is said to be the activation of a western disturbance. While Bihar has been experiencing rain for the past two days, many parts of Amritsar in Punjab have been experiencing light rain since morning.
Alert issued for Himachal
Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh, where the southwest monsoon withdrew by the end of September, is now poised for a fresh round of rain starting October 5. The Meteorological Center in Shimla issued an orange alert on Saturday, warning of hailstorms, heavy to very heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour (kph) at isolated places in six districts on October 6. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph at isolated places in all 12 districts on October 5.
Heavy rain expected in Bihar today
A heavy rain warning has been issued for several parts of Bihar today. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert, predicting heavy to very heavy rain in several districts of Bihar. The heaviest rainfall is expected in northern and eastern Bihar, where extremely heavy rainfall is expected.
Rain in Delhi-NCR
Meanwhile, a yellow alert is expected in Delhi-NCR today, with thunderstorms and light to moderate rain expected. This will bring down temperatures and provide relief from humidity. Rain and strong winds are also expected in parts of Punjab and Haryana.
Rain alert in Uttar Pradesh
The rainy season is expected to continue in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, there is an alert for heavy rain and hailstorms in western Uttar Pradesh between October 5th and 7th.
