Rs 1.27 Lakh Crore Incentives for Chip Manufacturing in the Country
New Delhi: The Central Government officially announced the ‘Semicon 2.0’ scheme on Monday, allocating a massive Rs 1.27 lakh crore to promote semiconductor (chip) manufacturing in the country. Details regarding eligibility criteria and the incentives to be offered to industries in this sector were disclosed. Under this scheme, financial support ranging from 25% to 40% will be provided for investments between Rs 50 crore and Rs 20,000 crore in chip manufacturing and assembly plants.
