Smaller Constituencies... Greater Development
If a delimitation (redistribution) of constituencies takes place across the country, the number of Lok Sabha seats will increase. Consequently, the population represented by each Member of Parliament (MP) would decrease from 30 lakhs to 15 lakhs. Smaller constituencies would make MPs more accessible to the public. As a result, the resolution of local issues would be expedited, and transparency in the utilization of MP funds would improve. This change would serve as an opportunity for grassroots-level development and for young leaders to enter the political arena.
