Tension in Hormuz: Pakistani Tanker Makes U-Turn
High drama unfolded near the Strait of Hormuz. Following the failure of peace talks between the United States and Iran, two massive oil tankers executed a last-minute U-turn. These vessels, belonging to Pakistan and Iraq, were scheduled to travel from the Gulf of Oman into the Persian Gulf. However, as they approached Iranian waters, they turned back. In fact, Iran had initially granted permission to the Pakistani and Iraqi vessels; this turn of events occurred only after the diplomatic talks collapsed.
