Telangana: An elderly man (81) from Ameerpet, Hyderabad has fallen into the trap of cyber criminals. In the first week of June, scammers called him on WhatsApp in the name of a woman named Maya Rajput. Speaking in a friendly manner, they trapped him and extorted Rs. 7.11 lakh through emotional blackmail, claiming to cover hospital expenses, plot registration, and release of gold ornaments. When more money was demanded, the suspicious elderly man approached the police.
