Shiv Pratap Shukla was appointed as the Governor of Telangana. He was born in Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) in 1952. He joined the BJP in 1983. He won as an MLA from Gorakhpur constituency 4 times in 1989, 91, 93, 96. He was a Rajya Sabha member from Uttar Pradesh from 2016-2022. He worked as the Minister of State for Finance in the Narendra Modi cabinet from 2017-19. He has been the Governor of Himachal Pradesh since 2023.
