Transgenders as security guards in Hyderabad Metro
Telangana: The government has decided to appoint transgenders as security guards in metro trains in Hyderabad. Minister Adluri Laxman handed over appointment letters to 20 hijras to this effect. He explained that 400 people applied for the guards' appointments and only those with the necessary skills were selected. The minister said that this opportunity was provided with the intention of ensuring that transgenders live with dignity in society.
